Who says you have to wear a bikini to be sexy? One-piece swimwear is making a bold statement this season. Recently, curvy blogger GabiFresh and Swimsuit Illustrated’s first curvy cover model, Ashley Graham, released bold new swimwear collections with online retailer Swimsuits for All. In each line, the curvy bombshells showed that you don’t have to rock a bikini to be sexy. Check out some of my favorite looks and swimwear styling tips to help you find the style that’s best for you.
Swimwear Styling Tips
TIP #1: Shop by Design Features, not Body Type
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve sat in front of a computer trying to figure out it if my body was shaped like a rectangle, apple or pear. Ditch the body type search and select a swimsuit that accents your best features. For example, if you want to highlight your legs (either to elongate them or feature them more prominently), opt for a high thigh-cut swimsuit. Also, you don’t have to cover up completely if your tummy isn’t flat. Carefully crafted cut-outs can add some pizazz to your look without making you feel insecure.
TIP #2: Mix Design Elements
Add a little variety to your swimwear by mixing patterns and solid colors. This combination slims your waist and adds a chic effect to your look. Prefer solid colors? No problem. Select a swimsuit with sheer paneling to add extra dimension without the bulk.

Mid-summer is the best time of the year to get a new swimsuit. Because we’re halfway through the year, most of the items are deeply discounted. That means you can get two swimsuits for the price of one—SCORE! Check out a few of my favorite places to shop!
