The off shoulder trend has been around for decades, but this year, it’s making a return in a big way. The great thing about wearing an off the shoulder top is that it looks great on any body type and age. Showing just a peek of shoulder instantly boosts the sex appeal of your outfit without leaving you feeling overexposed. In addition to wearing it traditionally, many designers are finding new ways to rock an age-old trend.
Check out a few ways to revive that top you bought years ago (or breathe new life into the one you found in your mom’s closet):
Traditional
Af former FLOTUS Michelle Obama so beautifully showed us, you have the right to bare arms…(or shoulders). 😉
Top Layer
Create a super feminine look by pairing your off the shoulder top with a chic blouse.
Bottom Layer
Opt for an edgier look by layering your off the should blouse in an unconventional way.
Regardless of how it’s worn, expect to see a lot of the trend this spring/summer. Which way is your favorite? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Hi Stephanie, I love the tips, but what is going wrong when the off the shoulder sleeve is really falling off the shoulder? Do I need a smaller size or it just isn’t the right style for me. I have two in my closet now that I don’t wear because of the problem I mentioned above.
That’s a GREAT question!! The tops are super cute but can be a hassle if they keep rising up. And don’t worry, it’s not just you…we’re all victims…lol. Check out this video for a quick DIY trick you can do: https://youtu.be/Tk7u_NgXCMw. Let me know how it works for you!
