It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s the Fashion Caped Crusader! This week, I’m dishing about one of the pieces that’s become a staple in my wardrobe this season. If the weather in your area has been fluctuating like mine, it’s essential to have something that can be worn during the day when the temps are warmer and at night when they begin to dip. Keep reading for my top three reasons why you need to add a cape to your wardrobe.
Three Reasons Why You Need to be a Caped Crusader
- More stylish than a poncho. Although I like wearing ponchos every now and again, I hate the way they detract from my figure. Capes, on the other hand, are much more figure flattering because they have more structure in the shoulders. That added detailing allows the fabric to follow the lines of your upper body…definitely a HUGE benefit.
- Comfortable. What other accessory do you know about that can perfectly cover your belly when you’ve had a little bit too much to eat? Lol.
- Practical: A jacket is nice but it doesn’t really express your fashion personality. A cape, however, is super chic and still keeps you warm.

You’re the QUEEN of capes, ponchos and wraps so I’m glad I could do this one some justice. Ha! 🙂
Very chic, Stephanie. I really think the hooded cape is awesome. The Katherine Hepburn look.
Thanks, Aunt Dena. I think you’d look FAB in this look, too!
