Caped Crusader

Black sweater cape

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s the Fashion Caped Crusader! This week, I’m dishing about one of the pieces that’s become a staple in my wardrobe this season. If the weather in your area has been fluctuating like mine, it’s essential to have something that can be worn during the day when the temps are warmer and at night when they begin to dip. Keep reading for my top three reasons why you need to add a cape to your wardrobe.

Neutral Spice

Neutral colors have always been a staple in fall/winter fashion but that doesn’t mean your look has to be boring. Ditch the basic whites and creams this season. Black Out

Fashion to Figure Vest

Outfit of the Day

Happy Saturday! Recently I fell in love…not with a person but with three new pieces from Fashion to Figure and Long Tall Sally. The first is a black faux leather and chiffon vest from Fashion to Figure. This sassy number adds a little extra zest to any outfit. Here, I wore it over a plain black top for an added slimming effect.

How to Slay an Ankara Dress

African Ankara Dress

Happy Saturday! Today, I’m gabbing all abut this beautiful Ankara skirt/dress that I purchased from the Ubiquitous Beauty Hair and Health Expo. Long Tall Sally-LTSsince76

Have you ever tried on something that literally lifted your spirits? That’s how I felt the first time I tried on a pair of jeans from Long Tall Sally (which was called The Tall Girl Shop back then). I remember the day vividly—I came home from middle school frustrated about not being able to wear the latest jeans that everyone else in my class wore. I remember thinking, ‘Why am I cursed with extra long legs?’ That’s when my mom took me to a place that would turn out to be a staple in my wardrobe from then on…

31st birthday photo in a garden

It’s my 31st birthday! Yay! As the saying goes, time is truly flying. I feel like it was just yesterday when I was celebrating my 30th birthday in an EPIC way. Hubby and I spent a week livin’ it up in Las Vegas and Los Angeles—spinning the roulette wheel and touring celebrity homes on the TMZ Tour Bus.

Another year has passed and I dread to say…I’m 31. I’m officially IN my 30s (noooooo)! So much has happened in this year (both personally and professionally) and I truly realize that life isn’t promised.

In honor of this special occasion, I decided to make a list of 31 things I want to do on my 31st birthday (or within the next 12 months…lol). Here we go!!
